I’m Dan. I’ve been working on boats for nearly twenty years, living aboard my own narrowboat for over half of that. Furthermore, I've many years of experience in all aspects of carpentry, cabinetry and joinery, as well as design work and project management.
Cluett Carpentry Ltd is a family run business and has been trading as an LTD since 2017. This, off the back of many years as a sole trader.
Based in Harlow, we work on boats locally as well as the Greater London area and surrounding counties. For larger projects, like wheelhouses and high-end bespoke cabinetry, we can travel further afield. As the majority of the work is carried out in the workshop, this helps minimise travel to and from site. Of course, not to mention disruption and mess in your boat and home.
I love working personally on design and production (and running the office!). I also work with a small group of crafts people producing one off joinery and cabinetry items for your boat.
We specialise in boats, and provide carpentry, joinery and cabinetry for a wide range of projects. Taking a particular interest in items such as wheelhouses, cratch frames, doors and windows, custom furniture and kitchens. Our furniture covers all aspects of cabinetry, including beds, wardrobes, media walls, office setups and more.

Creating custom carpentry is a journey. Starting with your ideas and working through to a finished product that is just for you.
You can get in touch via our contact page and I will take you through everything you need to know about design, schedule and budget for your perfect new home, boat, or addition. We can use computer aided design (CAD) work to bring your ideas to life and develop them to a perfect fit.
If you want to know more about how the process of commissioning custom furniture looks, then read my article How to make your home perfect as can be.
